On 6th April 2022, ZEVA’s members have been fortunately granted an audience with Bursa Malaysia Chairman, Tan Sri Abdul Wahid Omar.
Tan Sri Abdul Wahid Omar and Bursa Malaysia have been prominent in advocating the sustainability agenda in support of the country net-zero carbon emission by 2050 aspiration. Since 2015, Bursa Malaysia has been requiring the sustainability reporting framework for all listed companies. Tan Sri Abdul Wahid Omar on his personal basis is also the Chairman of World Wildlife Malaysia.
Tan Sri Abdul Wahid Omar surprised our members by turning up earlier to the meeting room to have an informal chat with the group. He also extended his time beyond the stipulated hour, actively listening to the members feedback about the EV industry and how can we move forward. He offered ZEVA the public communication via Bursa’s existing platform and encourage ZEVA to work alongside the government in achieving net-zero target by 2050.
